My 2012 fleet!

My fleet of Logos!

I decided to start the year with an effort to make my blogg active again. I basically haven´t written anything since the past summer. So now I´m in the mood for writing again and this time I will try to do it in english. It will be a challange for me since my writing isn´t half as good as I would like it to be. But it will be fun and I hope the I will reach out to more readers compared to when I only write in Swedish.

So what´s new? Whats has happen the latest 6 months? A lot of flying of course. I´ve been really active out on our local flying field. My focus has been to trying to learn some new moves and not only focus on doing the ones I already know better. The ones that´s new for the latest months is backwards rolling circle, Singapoare sling and something I don´t really know the name of. It´s a tail down tic toc with a rotation around the helicopters axis. I call it tic toc rotation but I guess there is a real name for it.

The 2012 season is coming up really fast and there will a few competitions this year. My main focus will be on F3N which is the FAI version of 3D masters. I like it better becouse it´s more focused on performing the flying perfectly then just flying low and cheering the crowd. Since my flying style is a bit booring to whatch I do think F3N is more suited to me. But in F3N you really need to get your set maneuvers done perfectly. Thats why I need to start practice them quite soon. And I also need a routine for flying to music. And that is a really big challenge. Just flying with music in the background is one thing – but performing a flight which actually is synced to music is super hard. But practice makes perfekt so I guess I will be able to come up with something at least.

I got a few emails the last weeks with question about what helicopters I will be flying this season. I´m still in love with my Logos so Mikado is the choice for me. I will list my fleet below with setups and when and why I will just that specific model.

Logo 600 SE

My Logo 600SE is a super nice helicopter. I really like how smooth it flys. It exact and precise. It is really sensetive on the pitch so you have to be carefull and not bang the sticks around. I get around 5 minutes of flight time using the setup below. One of the best things with this heli is the autorotation performance. It just hangs there forever. The downside? The light discloading makes it not so resistant to wind. On windy days it´s a pain to fly the SE. You really have to struggle to keep the moves where you want them. But on calm days it´s my first hand choice. The setup is as follow:

Edge 693 main blades
Align 105 tail blades
Quick UK tail
Carbon frame
Scorpion 5025 440 kv motor
Futaba BLS 451 cyclic servos
MKS DS760 tail servo
Jive 80HV
Vbar
12s 4000 mah Turnigy 30C packs
13 degress pitch
1900 headspeed

Logo 400

My Logo 400 is my ”fun” heli. Becouse of it´s size it´s really quick and nimble. I would lie if I said it flys like to bigger Logos, but it´s still really good. I use this heli for a good laugh. I will not fly it when I feel a want some good practise flights. To progess and improve your flyging with a small heli is a lot harder then to use the bigger ones. But it´s perfect to bring it to fun flys and take it out for a flight after the bbq later at night. The only thing I don´t like with this one is the response in the pitch. It´s heavy, around 2 kg, and got 425 mm blades. Therefore I need to have something like 2800 headspeed to get the lift I want. But I have ordered the stretch kit so I will come back with more info on that later. The setup:

Edge 425 main blades
Align 72 tail blades
Scorpion 3026 1400 kv motor
Align 75A esc (vbar gov)
Futaba 9650 cyclic servos
Futaba bls 251 servo
Vbar
3000 40C mah Turnigy packs
13 degrees pitch
2800 headspeed.

Logo 600 A and Logo 600 B

I got two Logo 600´s. I really love how they fly and I wil use them for upcoming competitions. My main goal is to use one of them for all the practise flights and the other one for the competitions. But who knows, I might end up flying them equally during the summer. I like basically all the things with my Logo 600´s and can not really think of anything I would like improve on them. But of course, there is always small things to fix on them. One of them needs new bearings in the motor and the other has a strange high pitch noise which I need to find out where it comes from. The setups:

Edge 623 main blades
Align 105 tail blades
Quick UK tail
Scorpion 4035 500 kv (12t pinion)
Jive 80HV
JR8717 cyclic servos
JR 8900G tail servo
Vbar (with AR7000)
4000 mah Turnigy 30C packs
13 degrees pitch
2050 headspeed

Edge 623 main blades
Align 105 tail blades
Quick UK tail
Align 700MX motor
Hobbywing 70A HV (vbar gov)
MKS BLS 950 cyclic servos
MKS DS 760 tail servo
Vbar
4000 mah Turnigy 30C packs
13 degrees pitch
2050 headspeed

Over and out for this time!

What flight time do you get with your 600 (not SE) with the 4000 packs?
